Abstract

Bone remodeling is resilience in a biological system. The talk will explain the dynamic system of activities, signals, and synchronized processes. Understanding how this system works illustrates fundamental processes and constraints that all systems must meet to be capable of resilient performance. Even more interesting bone remodeling reveals two different ways that resilience can be engineered.
