Abstract

Researchers have pointed out the need for longitudinal studies of development efforts, but a problem that occurs when you only have the opportunity to participate in the change for a short time is that projects and initiatives that are canceled shortly after the start mean that we lack sufficient information about the reasons for this and what happens / does not happen after the investment in skills development has ended. A follow-up of various initiatives and projects after they have been completed could provide interesting knowledge as a complement to previous studies, "what happens next?". Can the municipalities direct their interest towards this and perhaps use those among the school's staff who have different forms of scientific training (lecturers, first teachers, etc.) given the interest that exists in practice-based research (preferably in collaboration with partners within the universities). And such work could also provide thoughts on how we develop the work with teachers' competence development and learning.
