The Scandinavian Journal of Optometry and Visual Science (SJOVS) is an international interdisciplinary peer-reviewed journal for promoting research on all aspects of optometry and visual science. SJOVS has a focus on communicating frontline research to optometrists and related professionals, educators and vision scientists.
SJOVS publishes original quantitative or qualitative research, reviews and other scientific articles that deal with all aspects of optometry, visual science, and public health with focus on eye and vision health.

SJOVS operates independently of any large corporate publishers that profit from the work of academics. It is managed by academics for the benefit of the academic community. SJOVS was founded and developed by academics from the Optometry & Visual Science degree programs at the University of South-Eastern Norway and Linnaeus University in Sweden. It is continuously evolving with contributions from academics across Optometry & Visual Science, Ophthalmology, Orthoptics, Psychology, and Special Pedagogy degree programs in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, UK, Italy, Portugal, India, and the USA. All dedicated to advancing eye and vision health.
